Is your site invisible to ChatGPT?

Find out in 60 seconds.

40% of product questions now start in ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini — not Google. Auditov scores your page on SEO, AEO, and GEO and delivers the fix as a single markdown file you can paste straight into your CMS or hand to a client.

1. Missing H1 critical · AEO

Finding. The homepage has no <h1> tag. Answer engines use H1 as the primary topical signal; without it, Perplexity and ChatGPT fall back to the <title>, which truncates at 60 characters.

Fix. Add a single, topic-bearing H1 above the fold.

The argument

SEO tools grade the web Google sees.
We grade the one ChatGPT does.

01
The problem

You can't rank where you can't be found.

Google is no longer the only front door. 40% of product questions now start in ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini — and none of them read your site the way Googlebot does. Traditional SEO tools score you for a web that's already half gone.

40%
of product questions now start in an AI chat, not a search box. — Gartner, 2025
02
The framework

Three pillars. One score.

Auditov grades every URL on SEO (the classics), AEO (whether answer engines can quote you), and GEO (whether generative models pick you as a source). Three numbers, thirty checks, one verdict.

30
deterministic checks across three pillars — same HTML, same score, every time.
03
The artifact

A file. Not a dashboard.

Every audit ships as a markdown file you can paste into Claude, Cursor, or your CMS. No seat-based SaaS to log into. No weekly email. Just the fix, ready to execute.

Methodology

How we score AI search visibility.

Auditov runs 30 deterministic checks against a single URL's HTML in about 20 seconds. Grouped into three pillars, each producing a 0–100 score. Same HTML in, same score out.

Rubrics adapted from Princeton’s GEO paper (Aggarwal et al., 2024) and Ahrefs’ 17M-citation study. Scoring is deterministic; only copy-paste fixes are LLM-generated.

SEO

Classic SEO

What Googlebot still cares about.

Ten checks covering the traditional search signals — page title length and keyword placement, meta description, H1 heading presence, heading hierarchy, canonical tag, robots directives, Open Graph and Twitter Card completeness, image alt text, image dimensions, and internal linking structure.

  • 01Title tag (50–60 chars, keyword near the start)
  • 02Meta description (120–160 chars, with a call to action)
  • 03Single H1 heading that carries the page topic
  • 04Heading hierarchy with no skipped levels
  • 05Canonical tag pointing to the authoritative URL
  • 06Robots directives (noindex, nofollow, AI-bot policies)
  • 07Open Graph + Twitter Card tags present
  • 08Image alt text coverage
  • 09Image dimensions set (prevents layout shift)
  • 10Internal link count and anchor text
AEO

Answer Engine Optimization

Can AI engines find your page?

Ten checks adapted from industry research on how Perplexity, ChatGPT, and Google AI Overviews discover and rank content. We look for Organization and Article JSON-LD, FAQ schema when Q&A pairs exist, question-framed headings, direct-answer paragraphs, visible author bylines, last-updated dates, and whether AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot) are allowed in robots.txt.

  • 01AI crawler access (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot allowed)
  • 02Organization JSON-LD schema with sameAs links
  • 03Article / NewsArticle schema with datePublished + dateModified
  • 04FAQPage schema when the page contains Q&A pairs
  • 05Question-framed H2 headings (“How does X work?”)
  • 06Direct-answer paragraph after each question heading
  • 07Visible author byline (E-E-A-T)
  • 08Visible last-updated date on the page
  • 09Title tag framed as a claim or question (not just a topic)
  • 10Chunk length between headings (80–220 words)
GEO

Generative Engine Optimization

Will AI engines quote your page?

Ten checks distilled from Princeton's 2024 GEO paper and Ahrefs' 17M-citation study. GEO measures whether a page's content is *structured* for LLM quoting: short declarative sentences, high statistic density, outbound citations to authoritative sources (.gov, .edu, Wikipedia), direct quotations, structured lists and tables, and entity sameAs cross-links that let LLMs disambiguate who the page is about.

  • 01Quotable declarative sentences (10–25 words, self-contained)
  • 02Statistic density (numeric claims per 300 words)
  • 03Fact density (verifiable claims per 1000 words)
  • 04Attribution phrases (“according to”, “X reports”)
  • 05Authoritative outbound links (.gov, .edu, research orgs)
  • 06Direct quotations in blockquotes
  • 07Structured lists or tables (AI Overviews love these)
  • 08Paragraph chunkability (under 600 characters for RAG)
  • 09Entity sameAs cross-links to Wikipedia / Wikidata
  • 10Content length floor (1000+ words of substance)
What we don't measure

Core Web Vitals (use PageSpeed Insights), site-wide crawls (we audit one URL at a time), off-page signals like backlinks, and JavaScript-rendered content that loads after the initial response. The single biggest factor in AI citation — brand mentions in trusted publications — is off-page and can't be measured from HTML alone.
